Research
The major aim of the WRRC is to enable researchers to work on their
railways of interest and to make information and materials available
for that purpose.
To facilitate this process, many of the railways of Wales have been
sub-divided, largely on a Pre-Grouping line ownership basis, and each
railway has a
Line Superintendent who acts as a first
contact and is responsible for disseminating information about their
line. At present, there are 21 Line Superintendents responsible for
railway lines, plus a further 3 Superintendents who look after mapping,
waggons and family history.

Rhiwderin Research Facility
The WRRC is also developing a dedicated research facility in South
Wales, which ultimately will allow members full access to the extensive
collections of documents, maps, books and photographs which the Circle
holds.
Members are advised that the WRRC Research Facility at
Rhiwderin is now open the first Tuesday of
every month from 7pm until 10pm. Other opening times are possible by
prior appointment with the Committee.
