Saturday 19th January, 2019 – The Re-opening of the Rhondda Tunnel.
The first indoor meeting of the new season will see Tony Moon, Project Secretary of the Rhondda Tunnel Society, present a talk on the proposed re-opening of the Rhondda Tunnel.
This talk was to have taken place at the WRRC AGM last June but was postponed because of the problems experienced with our booking at the Rhiwderin Community Centre.

For sale at this meeting will be track keys recovered from the Rhonnda Tunnel priced at £25 each.
All money will go to the Rhondda Tunnel re-opening project. This is an opportunity to purchase a bit of Welsh railway history.!!

Saturday 16th February, 2019 – Transforming the Western Region.
Our second speaker is Paul Stanford of Network Rail. Paul will give us an insight into the electrification and resignalling schemes which have, quite literally, transformed the Western Region.

Saturday 23rd March, 2019 – My railway career in South Wales.
The third and final speaker of the season is David Marchant, a former senior manager within BR and a well-known individual on what was the Western Region of British Railways.
David is equally well known as an author of numerous railway books and for his tremendous work and support for the Railway Children charity not only in this country but also abroad. Hopefully, David will bring some of his books along with him on the day of his talk.
