| The
major aim of the WRRC is to enable researchers to work on their railways
of interest and to make information and materials available for that purpose.
However, the Circle is also keenly aware that much
of the early railway heritage of Wales is at risk of being lost through
decay and neglect along abandoned routes or modernisation on the current
network, or that records made by earlier researchers may exist but are
currently unavailable to a wider audience.
This has become all the more apparent as more and
more significant "anniversaries" occur in the railway world, and so the
Circle has launched a series of initiatives to attempt to protect or record
sites and documents before they are potentailly lost forever. |
